Northern Wedding Venues: Goldsborough Hall, North Yorkshire

Another look at some of the best wedding venues in the north of England now, and one of the most popular certainly in Yorkshire and maybe the north – Goldsborough Hall.  Set in North Yorkshire, this is a wedding venue with hundreds of years of history.  You can certainly enjoy pure luxury when booking your wedding here, and there is a stunning backdrop around every corner in this magnificent old building and grounds.

Samantha tells us what the venue has to offer and what clients can expect on their wedding day….

Goldsborough Hall is an exclusive wedding venue, there will be no other guests her on the day of your wedding. The owners like to reiterate the point of it being an extension of your own home to enjoy with your family and friends.

There are numerous ways which we can do weddings here and because we are a family owned private stately home, there is no such thing as no we can’t do it, but let’s see how we can do it. Flexibility is the key to providing our couples with the wedding they want in a beautiful location.

We have 3 state rooms which can be used for weddings:

 Sir Richard Hutton Dining Room:

This room is typically used for civil ceremonies and can seat max 110 people. The décor is grand but tasteful with a large fire place dominating the room. The room also has a beautiful baby grand piano in which can be used during the ceremony. This room can also be used later in the evening as a ‘chill out space’ for guests.

Princess Mary Drawing Room:

This room is typically used for the wedding breakfast, it is neutrally decorated, and so the room is light and airy and fits with all colour schemes and themes. It has two magnificent bay windows which showcase the wonderful views of the gardens. This room on the wedding day is set to the highest possible standard by our operations team and our dedicated wedding coordinator is on hand to make sure all of the final touches are perfectly in place.

The Jacobean Oak Walled Library:

This room is typically used for drinks receptions and the evening receptions. It is a wonderful atmospheric room with occasional furniture for relaxing and then becoming a fantastic room for live bands and DJ’s.  Our full capacity is 100 in the Hall. However we do have a marquee site which can accommodate up to 250.

Our terrace is a wonderful place during the summer months for drinks and canapés over looking the vast sculptured lawns.  Our gardens are beautifully kept, feeling like you are in the middle of nowhere. We have a beautiful gazebo at the bottom of our woodland walk which is a picture perfect opportunity and somewhere the bride and groom can catch 5 minutes before the wedding breakfast.

The venue is kept to an extremely high standard with 6 beautiful suites for your guests to stay in, all of which are luxurious in décor and sumptuous bathrooms. Our presidential suite with a sunken bath in the bay window, overlooking the gardens.  There is a 13th Century church at the bottom of our drive way which couples can get married in and then walk up the path to the Hall where they can enjoy their wedding reception. It is the best of both worlds here at Goldsborough!

We have a dedicated Wedding Coordinator who takes you through the whole of the wedding process and is on hand to help with any ideas that couples may have. They conduct thorough meeting with the couples regularly to ensure that we have all the details to ensure the wedding day runs to perfection.

We also have an operations team who work to make the day run smoothly, from our Operations manager who can assist with toastmaster duties and makes sure that things are running to time.

We can ensure that our staff here at the Hall are discreet at all times, but on hand to make sure all guests are comfortable and attended to.
