An Engagement Shoot in Manchester: Ryan and Michelle

A lovely wintery pre wedding shoot to bring you, submitted by the super talented Paul Baybut at Photopia Wedding Photography.  The shoot was done in Heaton Park, Prestwich on one of the many freezing mornings we had in February.  I can’t wait to see the images from the wedding in March!
Michelle gives us the details of their beautiful story together, and the the true rmance behind the images…

Ryan and I met each other online. After having been on the site for a few months he stood out as ‘The One’ straight away… It was definately love at first sight…!!!! I couldn’t even breathe for the first few minutes of our first date. He was charming, handsome, intelligent, athletic and very very funny which I loved… I didn’t stop smiling all night…

Ryan took me and my dog ‘Matrix’ on a weekend to Wales. He booked the weekend using a website that lists hotels and restarants that are dog friendly. He initailly intended to propose at a well known beauty spot ( I had no idea..) but when we arrived there were hundreds of people there as part of a bird watching day… Fortunately, he decided to propose once we had got back to the hotel. We were staying near some cliffs and I thought it was odd that he wanted to go out for another walk, but it was a beautiful sunset so I agreed…. We found a nice spot to watch the sun, then suddenly he got down on one knee and proposed. I told him to stop messing around, then realised that it would be too cruel a joke, so realised that he was being serious. I started crying and obviously said yes. It was the happiest moment of my life. A moment I’d hoped for since I met Ryan…

The wedding itself is a small one at a local hotel. There is no real ‘theme’ as such but I have quoted ‘All you need is love…’ from the Beatles song on all of the invites and stuff that I designed myself, since I am a graphic designer.

I have known Paul (the photographer) for quite a few years now as I used to work with him. I have followed his work since he became a professional photographer and have always thought that he is very talented. I knew that he would be able to deliver and deliver he did…! He has the special combination of commitment, skill, vision and an edge of genius!!!

He and his fiancee made both Ryan and myself feel very comfortable during the photoshoot and the direction we got from Paul was very clear and felt very natural. I would recommend him to anyone…

As for now, we are both beavering away at the logistics for the big day which is fast approaching. Ryan is being amazing and working very hard too. I’m a very lucky girl…!

A big thank you to Michelle and Ryan for sharing their story, and to Paul Baybut at Photopia Wedding Photography for submitting the wonderful pictures.
